Product Manager

We are looking for a talented product manager to join our Product, Design, and Engineering Team to build consumer and enterprise web applications for global clients. You will have the opportunity to work across our industry-leading product lines: The Price Database is the most comprehensive art price data set trusted by appraisers and collectors worldwide. The Gallery Network features both premier and up-and-coming galleries in a sleek one-stop collecting platform. artnet News is the leading daily art news site with a readership of over 1 million pageviews a month. Our latest addition to the suite, artnet Insights, will set a new standard for delivering marketplace content based on advanced algorithms developed by our young and growing Artificial Intelligence Team.    

The ideal candidate for this position must be an organized problem-solver with excellent analytical and communication skills. We work in a fast-paced, agile environment where collaboration is key to success. Equally important will be your experience in web-based software development and ability to lead teams while working on multiple projects. We’re looking for someone excited about contributing to our purpose of providing the best online products and experience to meet and exceed the needs of the fine art world. You will be working from our New York office, located in the historic Woolworth Building.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the engineering, design, and business owners to build and launch world-class product experiences
  • Analyze user data, glean insights, and present to stakeholders
  • Prioritize feature releases and sprints based on business goals, impact, and challenges      
  • Elicit user stories using requirements, use cases, and business analysis
  • Develop requirement specifications
  • Create clear and concise wireframes
  • Create UML workflow diagrams for features
  • Deep understanding of development methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum
  • Apply agile tools to manage the product milestones and communicate priorities
  • Effectively communicate product roadmap and release schedules to all stakeholders
  • Participation and management of all stages of software development lifecycles
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to identify opportunities that optimize existing features and design new ones
  • Identify, communicate, and manage risks associated with each project

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field, MS, MBA, or PhD preferred
  • 3–5 years of product management or product design experience
  • Experience in launching successful consumer-facing products and features, preferably on multiple platforms such as iOS, Android, desktop, and web
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to collect user feedback, conduct user testing, and understand customer pain points
  • Experience with Google Analytics; GAIQ certification a plus
  • Knowledgeable in SEO best practices
  • Understanding of responsive design and single-page applications
  • Passionate about creating best-in-class pages, products, and app experiences
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to independently drive initiatives forward end-to-end
  • Experience with SQL queries to find the information you need in our database
