Galleries Internship

artnet is the leading resource for the international art market, and the principal platform for art auctions on the Internet. With products such as artnet Auctions, the Price Database, the Gallery Network, Analytics Reports, and artnet News, artnet is the only company to offer a comprehensive combination of art market resources. We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person who wants to learn from a fast-paced, international environment. This internship will involve supporting the gallery specialists with building and maintaining gallery member sites, art fair partnerships, artist biographies and more. He or she will report to the supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Update gallery member sites with new inventory, exhibitions, and art fairs
  • Tag artists and artworks with appropriate categories (material, style/movement, subject matter, etc.)
  • Build art fair trial sites
  • Edit the artist database by adding or updating artist biographies
  • Coordinate with the gallery specialists on researching and developing questions for the Artist/Dealer Q&A series on artnet News

Requirements:

  • Current college student with major in Art History or recent graduate with BA in Art History
  • Proficient knowledge of PC platform, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Foreign language skill a plus
  • Basic comprehension of HTML
  • Ability to multi-task and self-motivate with a strong attention to detail
  • Writing, editing, and proof-reading abilities

Position to be filled immediately. Flexible schedule available with a required three-to-four-month time commitment. This internship is unpaid, with a daily stipend to cover transportation and lunch expenses. The candidate may also arrange with their college to receive course credit.
