Chinese-Language Research Internship

artnet, the leading international platform to buy, sell, and research art online, is seeking a dedicated and resourceful Chinese-speaking research intern. With products such as artnet Auctions, the Price Database, the Gallery Network, Analytics Reports, and artnet News, artnet is the only company to offer a comprehensive combination of art market resources.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual who wants to learn in a fast-paced, international environment. You will be working on an important research project contributing to our extensive artist directory, researching Chinese artists, biographical information, and oeuvre. You will have access online Chinese language resources, various artist databases, auction catalogues, as well as our internal library.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with research
  • Data entry
  • Translating database information to English
  • Participating in team projects
  • Administrative tasks

Qualifications:

  • Reading proficiency in Chinese required
  • Art history background preferred
  • Interest in Asian art
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Very detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Highly organized

We offer a flexible schedule with a required three-to-four-month time commitment and a daily stipend to cover transportation and lunch expenses, and encourage candidates to arrange to receive course credits from their college.
