Production Internship, artnet Price Database

As a production intern, you will be an integral part in assisting the maintenance of the artnet Price Database, the most comprehensive archive of international auction results ever recorded.

We are seeking a motivated and resourceful individual to get involved with database management at an entry level. In this position, you will have the opportunity to collaborate between teams and departments while gaining experience with artnet products and growing your understanding of art market trends.

You will be working from our headquarters located in the historic Woolworth Building, working closely with the Price Database team to help us improve our powerful tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Copy edit auction information for entry in the artnet Price Database
  • Translate lot information into English
  • Thoroughly research artists and movements
  • Update our artist index and associated data
  • Research new auction markets and update the team on current auction trends
  • Assist in interdepartmental team projects
  • Field ad-hoc administrative tasks

Qualifications:

  • Currently studying art history or a recent graduate
  • Reading fluency in both English and a foreign language required, especially German, French, or Swedish
  • Ability to navigate and manipulate large volumes of data using Microsoft Excel
  • Keen research skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Detail-oriented and organized

We offer a daily stipend to cover transportation and lunch expenses, and encourage candidates to arrange to receive course credits from their college. artnet also provides regular extracurricular opportunities, such as museum and gallery openings, artist talks, and lectures.
